English Translation: Meri Meri Te Bando Shun Kare Re
Verse 1 O man! Why do you cry "Mine, mine" (in worldly greed)? In this way, the people of all three worlds have gone astray.
Verse 2 Indeed, the world is built upon deceit and pretense; No one truly understands the essence of righteous conduct.
Verse 3 As you move forward (into the hereafter), you will deeply regret; For that is when the Lord will take an account of your life in this world.
Verse 4 An account for even a "sesame seed's" worth of deeds will be taken; What will be your condition and state at that time?
Verse 5 Every hair on your body will bear witness against you; The Lord will then cause many severe punishments to be meted out.
Verse 6 You will be left rubbing your hands in despair and exhaustion; At that moment, no one will come to save or protect you.
Verse 7 Neither mother nor father will come to your aid there; There will be no sister and no brother to stand by you.
Verse 8 Neither kinsmen nor family will accompany you; The soul will arise and stand entirely alone.
Verse 9 The soul will cry out and plead loudly there; But no companion will come forward to join or help.
Verse 10 Those who have embraced the True Path (Satpanth); They alone will attain the eternal abode of Amrapuri.
Verse 11 Pir Hasan Shah speaks thus: Meditate upon and follow the path of true religious conduct.
