Translation: O brothers! At the hour of Light (pre-dawn), drink the nectar of Divine Light and let your heart overflow with joy. At the moment the soul begins to bloom like a flower, establish your eternal bond with the Lord and the Guide. Wake up, O brothers, wake up! For the night (of ignorance) is coming to an end. Be vigilant, O believers! For the dawn of spiritual awakening is near.
[Verse 2] Ejee utam hoi naahi dhoi, aapnnaa alakhane aaraadho
The poet begins by begging for the Lord's "smiling countenance." In spiritual traditions, a smile from the Divine signifies Raza (approval and pleasure).
The act of folding hands represents the ultimate surrender of the ego. The devotee admits to being "sinful and blameworthy" (gunegaari). This is not just about guilt; it is an honest admission that human effort alone is insufficient, and only the Lord's presence () can redeem the soul.
Translation: Attain the highest state of purity by cleansing your inner self, and worship the Incomprehensible Lord. Discard the "counterfeit coins" (false values and insincere devotion); O brothers, remain awake!
[Verse 3] Ejee utam abhiyaagat alakhne, aaraadho moraa bhaaijee Or sarve bhut keraa vaasaa jaannojee... tame jaago
Translation: O my brothers! Become the most honored guests in the Divine Presence and adore the Indescribable Lord. Realize that all other worldly attachments are merely dwellings of ghosts (fleeting illusions); O brothers, remain awake!
[Verse 4] Ejee khatt ghaddee paachhlee rahennee rahe, Taare tame jaago momanbhaaeejee Jaagee jaagee aapnnaa alakhne aaraadho... tame jaago
Translation: When only the last six ghaddees (approx. 2 hours) of the night remain, that is the time you must be awake, O momin brothers. Remaining fully conscious and alert, worship your Ineffable Lord; O brothers, remain awake!
[Verse 5] Ejee bhanne peer sadardeen, hee jug paachhlee rahennee Sat keree vaatt kene veerle jaannee... tame jaago
Translation: Peer Sadardeen teaches: This current age is like the final watch of the night (the dawn of truth). The Path of Truth is known only to a few courageous and rare souls; O brothers, remain awake!
The poet reminds the Eternal Lord (Kaayam Saami) of the promise of protection. "Saranne" (Refuge) implies that once the seeker enters the Lord's shelter, they are no longer subject to the fears of the world. By touching the feet (Paanyaj laagun), the devotee seeks the total eradication of past burdens.
When sins are washed away, the "meeting" (Bhetteaa) occurs. This is the climax of the Ginan where the heart overflows with love (Hete).
The final verse is an invitation to all believers (Moman). It teaches that worship is only effective when done with Hek Man (a single-minded heart). Those who serve the Master with undivided focus do not just get worldly rewards; they attain the Avichal Raaj—the Unshakable, Eternal Kingdom of spiritual enlightenment.
